Go Big or Go Home

After the crazy pandemic period, the freedom to celebrate however we want means that couples are going all out for their weddings this year…

Consider extravagant celebrations, multi-night-themed parties, extravagant dresses, big cakes, champagne towers, and guest lists that are overflowing in order to make up for lost time with friends and loved ones.

The 'go big' attitude extends to wedding food, which this year is all about feasting without the formality– Kourtney Kardashian's Dolce and Gabbana spaghetti bowls and Daisy Hoppen's French fries trolleys are great examples.

Champagne Towers

Champagne towers are fun and look timeless and luxurious when it comes to unique drink presentations!

Champagne towers are an opulent and unique way of providing a one-of-a-kind experience at your wedding. So, if you enjoy champagne, this is a wedding styling trend for your luxury wedding, that you should consider!

Dramatic Ceilings

More and more couples are opting for dramatic ceiling installations with florals, lighting, draping, and other elements. As a Scotland wedding stylist, I absolutely love this trend and it screams luxury to me – this is where choosing a venue comes to play – choosing a space with high ceilings and windows that let in lots of light is important.

Over-The-Top Cakes and Cake Toppers

Gigantic, extravagant, luxury wedding cakes are making a comeback – a cake absolutely covered in dried flowers that match the details of your dress is a lovely idea.

Adding drama, even when it comes to your cake is so fun – you can add opulence and excitement even to your food!

Colour

While this isn't a new concept, it's exciting that it is sticking around because colour plays a key role in styling! Couples are embracing thoughtful colour references through patterned textiles, illustrations, floral concepts, custom décor moments, and bridal fashion.

Extravagant Escort Card Walls

There will be no more extravagant escort card walls. Instead, opt for a more traditional display that is beautifully organised on a table and encourages guest interaction and mingling.

The waitstaff's white-glove service is always a favourite, but I also like sophisticated envelopes nestled in a floral bed.

Pearls

Pearls are a wedding styling trend for your luxury wedding that can be found all over the wedding venue – everything from the cake to the dress! Pearls are a great way to add a touch of glitz to your wedding without going overboard.

They are timeless statement pieces that can be worn with almost any outfit or used as a decorative accent.

Whether you're using pearls on your wedding dress, hair, accessories, or wedding venue, selecting the right size is critical. Also, make sure it fits in with your wedding theme– which if you’re going for a luxury vibe, it certainly will!

Wedding Lighting

Curtain string lighting – this is perhaps the best way to add a backdrop behind your ceremony or head table. Creating a waterfall effect that looks and feels romantic, and elegant and is appropriate for both indoor and outdoor venues.

Chandeliers Decor – choose chrome or glass chandeliers with bright LED light bulbs for something more modern and expensive looking.

Make sure any chandeliers hanging from the ceiling sparkle. The more glittery they are, the better they will appear in photographs.

Wedding Menu

Monoportions – more emphasis on food quality is a wedding styling trend for a luxury wedding – yes I said styling, the way the food is presented has a big impact on the vibe of your day.

The monoportions have replaced the buffet with thoughtful and adventurous single servings which not only improves the presentation of the meal, but also gives guests the impression that each bite was created with them in mind. Now, this is the type of high-quality service your guests need.

Pre-ceremony Cocktails – starting your festivities with a pre-ceremony cocktail or glass of champagne is a great way to get the party started – who doesn’t love a good tipple?!

Your luxury wedding stationery will come into play with this to display what you have to offer them – your menus!

Black and White Formal Wedding

With every wedding styling trend, there is an opposing viewpoint – brides who see the erosion of traditional values and expectations are going to great lengths to maintain them.

I love black and white formal weddings because they are exactly what they sound like! Black bow ties, tuxedos, and traditional A-frame gowns with a value and decorum emphasis. Now this will give such a luxury wedding look without a doubt.

Greenery

Greenery adds character and elegance to both indoor and outdoor weddings – your go-to whether you want a dramatic effect or simple decor elements.

When it comes to decor, lush greenery is extremely versatile and ideal for all styles of weddings. The manicured shrubbery will add a touch of sophistication and the simplest garlands, on the other hand, will add a romantic vibe – drape lush greenery around the frames of your chuppah, canopy, or arch.

The best part is that greenery can also be used as a functional camouflage to conceal items such as wires and sockets.
